Loretto 26: The 75th Republic Day was celebrated with utmost dignity. The National Falg was hoisted by Rev Fr Francis Crasta the Correspondent of the Loretto Educational Institutions. Rev Fr Jason Monis Principal Loreto Eng. Med School, Rev Sr Idoline Rodrigues Kannada Medium Headmistress, Mr Sachin Noronha the PTA Vice President Mr Felix Dsouza the Panchayat Member of Amtady Grama Panchayat were present on the dais.
The programme began with the prayer song lead by the English Medium School Children. After hoisting the National Flag, the students marched for the rhythmic school band according to class wise. The Students of both the school melodiously sang the patriotic song and sparkled the fire of patriotism in the hearts of the children.
Rev Fr Francis Crasta in his presidential speech highlighted the importance of responsibility in the country as a responsible citizen. He said its not only enough to say that we are country men who love the country rather must be responsible in every action you do. If you are not responsible anything can happen in the Democracy. Like many a times being not responsible may result in danger he said. He urged the students to practice, learn and be responsible for every action that you do.
The student of Kannada Medium child Krithika of 7th spoke about the importance of the day. Mr Padmanabha Mayya PET of English Medium lead the falg hoisting ceremony and slogans.
The Kannada medium school took the initiative to lead the celebration. Mrs Marina Tauro proposed the vote of thanks, Mrs Jayanthi R welcomed the gathering and Mrs Ashwini compered the programme.
