On August 12, 2024, Loreto English medium Highschool celebrated Librarian Day , the birthday day of S.R Ranganathan, with a special assembly that highlighted the importance of reading and libraries. The event was filled with various performances and activities by our talented students.
The celebration began with a vibrant dance performance by the 10th standard students. Following the dance, Nicole from Grade 10 delivered an insightful speech on the significance of Librarian Day, emphasizing the role of libraries in fostering a love for reading and lifelong learning. The assembly continued with a beautifully enacted moral story by the students of Grade 10. In addition, the students of Grade 5 participated in a creative display of storybook characters. Dressed as their favorite characters, they brought to life the Stories.
On the occasion of Librarian Day, an essay writing competition was held for students of 5th and 6th grades, and a book review competition was organized for students of 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th grades. The winners of these competitions were honoured by our principal, Rev. Father Jason Vijay Monis.
Our principal Rev. Father Jason Vijay Monis in his speech highlighted how books can open up new worlds and encouraged everyone to make reading a daily habit. He also took the opportunity to wish our librarian Mrs. Chandrakala Rai on this special occasion. Chahna from Grade 9 compared the programme. The assembly concluded with a round of applause for all the participants.
