“Science is a way of understanding the universe and ourselves, better than we ever thought possible”.

Loreto English Medium High School celebrated National Science Day with great enthusiasm. The event was graced by the presence of our Principal, Rev. Fr. Jason Vijay Monis, and Vice Principal, Mrs. Anitha Shalini Pais, who were seated on the dais.

The program commenced with a warm welcome addressed by Ms. Ashel Saldanha of Grade VIII. The inauguration ceremony was uniquely marked by an experiment on the invention of lava, symbolizing the theme “Explore the Unknown.”

Following the inauguration, Ms. Melora Fonseca of Grade VII highlighted the importance of National Science Day, emphasizing the contributions of Indian scientists and the role of science in everyday life.

To encourage scientific curiosity among students,  a Science Model Competition was conducted, Anston Lobo and Ian Lobo of Grade IV won the “Best Science Model award”. The winners of all competitions were felicitated with prizes in recognition of their efforts and creativity.

Our School Principal, Rev. Fr. Jason Vijay Monis, addressed the gathering, encouraging students to explore and innovate in the field of science. He wished all the science teachers and expressed gratitude to all who taken initiative to the success of the program. He also urged the students to limit their use of social media and focus on learning something beneficial for themselves and others. He encouraged them to discover new and useful things that could contribute to others.

A cultural program followed, showcasing the creativity and enthusiasm of the students. The program was anchored by Ms. Dale Alba Lobo of Grade VII. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Crishel Dsouza of Grade VIII. The celebration ended  with the singing of the National Anthem.
