Embracing the Spirit of the Game: Loreto School Celebrates National Sports Day

Loreto English Medium High School, CBSE, observed National Sports Day with great zeal and respect, honoring the memory of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand.

The dignitaries offered flowers at the portrait of Major Dhyan Chand in remembrance of his invaluable contribution to Indian sports.

The students performed a sports-themed dance and skit to celebrate the spirit of the occasion. Alina of Grade V shared her thoughts on the significance of the day, reminding everyone of the values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance.

Principal Rev. Fr. Jason Vijay Monis, in his address, highlighted the importance of excelling not only in academics but also in sports. He encouraged students to take an interest in sports and strive for excellence in their favorite games.

Vice Principal Mrs. Anitha Pais, along with the teachers, was present at the occasion. The programme was compered by Naimisha of Grade V. Russell extended a warm welcome to the gathering, and Ian Lobo proposed the vote of thanks.

The celebration served as a reminder that sports are not merely games, but powerful avenues to build character, unity, and resilience.
